Why this league matters

By 5th and 6th grade, the game starts to speed up. School tryouts are coming, competition gets tougher, and players either grow in confidence — or fall behind. The Boys Elevate League is built to give boys in The Woodlands and Spring a structured, positive basketball environment where they can actually learn the game while they play.

Each Saturday combines real coaching and real games. Players get the reps, feedback, and accountability they need to improve — without the chaos, yelling, or confusion that comes with most rec leagues. It’s a league for families who want something better than “just roll the ball out.”

What your child will gain: Skills, confidence, basketball IQ

  • Stronger fundamentals – Ballhandling, shooting form, finishing at the rim, and passing under pressure reinforced every week.
  • Real game understanding – Spacing, cutting, basic pick-and-roll actions, help defense, and how to play within a team — not just chase the ball.
  • True game confidence – Consistent coaches, clear expectations, and a predictable routine help players trust themselves and make stronger decisions.
  • Effort and accountability – We talk about body language, listening, and how to respond to mistakes. Players learn that their effort and attitude always travel with them.
  • A positive, structured environment – No chaos on the sidelines. Just a clear standard, firm but fair coaching, and a focus on growth over shortcuts.

Who: Boys in 5th–6th grade (typically ages 10–12)

League Format:
• 4-week session – Saturdays in January
• 60-minute practice + 60-minute game each week
• All players receive meaningful playing time
• Games are played with the official Coach Deon basketball

Uniforms: League jerseys are provided and must be returned after the final week.

Player of the Week: Recognized every Saturday to reward effort, attitude, and improvement.

Parent FAQ: What you need to know

Is this league right for beginners?

Yes — as long as your player is ready to listen, try, and work. We have players who are newer to the game and players with more experience. We teach the basics of spacing, passing, and team play, then challenge each player at their level.

What if my son has already played on school or club teams?

The Elevate League is great for players who want more structure and better habits. Advanced players are pushed with responsibilities, decision-making, and standards around effort and leadership.

Can we miss a week?

We understand families have conflicts and travel. We encourage players to attend all four weeks to get the full benefit, but if you miss a session, your son keeps his spot. We plug him back into the rotation the following week.

Do we have to live in The Woodlands?

No. Many families come from Spring, Conroe, Magnolia, and surrounding areas. As long as you can make the Saturday sessions, your player is welcome.

Who runs the Elevate League?

The league is led by Coach Deon — The Woodlands’ Most Dedicated Coach — and a trained staff that understands both basketball and working with kids. Our goal is to build skills, confidence, and character every time your son steps on the floor.
