Why this league matters for junior high boys

Many parents tell us their sons need more than open gyms or casual leagues — they need structure, clear teaching, and accountability. The Boys Inspire League is designed exactly for that stage: junior high boys who are ready to be coached, challenged, and guided the right way.

Each Saturday, players work directly with Coach Deon & Staff on fundamentals, decision-making, and competitive play. Every drill and every possession has purpose — preparing them to perform better in school basketball and future competitive environments.

“My son decided to play basketball for the first time at almost 13 years old. Coach Deon’s program has been absolutely incredible for him. In just 4 short weeks he has not only gained a solid understanding of the game itself, but has gained so many skills along the way. The coaching is great, and even the refs are helpful and encouraging. It’s really a joy to watch. Sign your kid up now.”

What your son will gain: Confidence, standards, leadership

  • Real structure, not chaos – Warmups, teaching segments, and coached games so players know what to expect each week.
  • Better game decisions – When to attack, when to pass, how to move without the ball, and how to read basic advantages.
  • Stronger fundamentals – Ballhandling, finishing, shooting, spacing, and on-ball/helpside defense, reinforced every session.
  • Higher standards for effort and attitude – We coach how to respond to mistakes, how to talk to teammates, and how to carry themselves.
  • Confidence that transfers to school teams – Players learn how to be coachable, responsible, and ready when their number is called.

Parent FAQ: What you need to know

Is this league right for my son if he’s behind other players?

Yes. The Inspire League is built for a mix of developing and more experienced junior high players. We coach effort, spacing, and decision-making so every player has a role and a path to improve, regardless of where they start.

What if my son already plays for his school or a club team?

This league is a great complement. Because Saturdays are structured around teaching and game reps, players get more touches, more decisions, and more feedback than they typically receive in standard games alone.

Can we miss a week?

We know families have travel and conflicts. We encourage players to attend all four weeks to get the full benefit, but if you miss a session, your son keeps his spot and jumps right back into the rotation the following week.

How competitive is it?

The environment is competitive but controlled. We keep standards high, coach communication, and make sure the focus is on getting better — not arguing calls or losing control. Players are expected to listen, work, and support teammates.

Who leads the league?

The league is led by Coach Deon — The Woodlands’ Most Dedicated Coach — and a staff that understands both basketball and working with junior high athletes. Our mission is bigger than wins: we are building confidence, discipline, and character through basketball.
