Youth Basketball Classes in The Woodlands
Coach Deon Basketball Development
A structured, month-to-month basketball development experience for players who are ready to move beyond the basics. These classes are designed for families who value clear standards, intentional coaching, and real progress — not random workouts.
Led by The Woodlands’ Most Dedicated Coach, this program helps players sharpen their skills, build confidence under pressure, and learn how to apply fundamentals in game-like situations.
Who These Classes Are Designed For
These classes are designed for players who have already completed the Fundamentals First curriculum, or for new players entering the Coach Deon system with a solid basketball foundation and readiness for structured skill development.
Classes are skill-based, not age-based. Players are grouped on the court by ability, pace, and readiness so each athlete is challenged appropriately while maintaining confidence, accountability, and momentum in their development.
If your player is still developing core ball-handling, footwork, or shooting fundamentals, we recommend starting with Fundamentals First before enrolling in these classes. That foundation ensures players are prepared to benefit fully from the pace, detail, and expectations of this program.
“We tried 2 other local basketball programs before we met Coach Deon back in 2020/2021. My son has been in his program ever since. Coach D and his team does an excellent job teaching and strengthening the fundamental skills of basketball into their players.”

This Month’s Basketball Class
Each month features a focused 4-week class designed to build on foundational skills and translate them into confident, game-ready execution.
Shooting Foundations: Rhythm & Flow
Fridays — February 6, 13, 20, and 27
6:15 PM – 7:00 PM
The Woodlands Methodist School FLC Gym
1915 Lakefront Circle, The Woodlands, TX 77380
4 sessions for the month — $100
This month’s class focuses on shooting rhythm, balance, and flow — helping players develop a repeatable shot they can trust under game conditions. The emphasis is not on rushing reps, but on building smooth mechanics, confident footwork, and consistent timing from the ground up.
Players will be challenged through purposeful drills, competitive reps, and guided feedback designed to push development without overwhelming confidence. Sessions will include skill-building progressions that help players improve shot preparation, timing, and consistency in a way that carries over to real games.
All programs are held at The Woodlands Methodist School FLC Gym.
Why This Program Matters
Parents often ask how to help their child improve without burning them out or bouncing between programs. The answer isn’t more activity — it’s better structure.
These classes are designed to:
Reinforce strong fundamentals under pressure
Build confidence through successful repetition
Teach players how to apply skills in real basketball situations
Hold players to clear expectations while supporting growth
The goal isn’t just short-term improvement — it’s creating habits and confidence that carry into games, leagues, and future levels of play.
