Why Do I Coach?
I decided many years ago that I wanted to be a coach. The reason was simple—I understood early on the impact a coach can have on a young person’s life. I’ve seen firsthand how the right mentor can shape not just an athlete, but a person.
From the start, I knew my purpose wasn’t to promise parents or kids that I could turn them into NBA stars or college athletes. That was never my goal. My passion for coaching came from something deeper: the desire to motivate, guide, and serve the youth.
Basketball just happened to be the vehicle—a sport I’ve loved my whole life. But coaching, for me, is about much more than the game. It’s about teaching life lessons, instilling discipline, and helping young athletes develop confidence, resilience, and character.
I show up every day with energy, passion, and a commitment to helping my players grow—not just on the court, but in life. I push them to be their best, hold them accountable, and support them through the highs and lows. Whether it’s extra hours in the gym, words of encouragement when they need it most, or simply being a consistent, reliable presence in their lives—I do it because I care.
In closing, I am The Woodland’s Most Dedicated Coach—not because I say it, but because I live it. I coach with purpose. I lead with heart. And I’m committed to making a difference, one player at a time.
