What ages do the basketball leagues serve?

Our youth basketball leagues are designed for players ages 6–15, with divisions and groups based on age and grade level.

Where are the league games and practices held?

All league practices and games take place at The Woodlands Methodist School FLC Gym, located at 1915 Lakefront Circle, The Woodlands, TX.

Do players need prior experience to join?

Players do not need any prior experience. Leagues include teaching, structured practices, and opportunities for all skill levels.

What is included in the league experience?

Each league includes structured weekly practices, real games, skill development, team coaching, and a positive environment built to help young athletes grow.

How do I register my player?

Parents can register directly on this page. Each league division includes its own sign-up button with full details and availability.

Is this a basketball league in The Woodlands for beginners and developing players?

Yes. Divisions are structured to support beginners and developing players with coaching, confidence-building reps, and organized games each week.

How long is each weekly session?

Session length varies by division. Girls Young Ballers, Boys Young Ballers, Elevate, and Inspire run 90 minutes each week. Girls Select runs 2 hours each week.

How much playing time will my child get?

Leagues are capped at 20 players and split into two balanced teams, so every player gets meaningful minutes with constant involvement.

What’s included in the registration fee?

The registration fee covers a 4-week season with weekly practice, officiated games, coaching feedback, and a team uniform to be returned at season end (or a $25 fee applies). No hidden costs.

Can players use the skills they’re learning in classes?

Yes. Many families pair weekday skill classes with our youth basketball leagues in The Woodlands so players can apply new skills in real game situations.

Do you offer different divisions for age or skill?

Yes. Current divisions include Starter (ages 6 & up), Rising (ages 8–10), Elevate (grades 5–6), Inspire (grades 7–9), and Girls Select (grades 5–8). Players are grouped by age and ability.

Basketball Leagues in The Woodlands

Coach Deon Basketball runs structured basketball leagues in The Woodlands for ages 6–15 — designed for families who want organization, teaching, real game experience, and a clear development path.

Divisions & Details

Starter Division (Ages 6 & Up)

4-week season. Each week: 50-minute shared practice, then a live game. Emphasis on footwork, ball control, spacing, and confidence.

Rising Division (Ages 8–10)

4-week season. Each week: 50-minute shared practice, then a live game. Emphasis on decision-making, passing under pressure, finishing, and on-ball defense.

Girls Select League (Grades 5–8)

Fridays, 7:30–9:30 PM. Four-week season with officiated games, accountability, and competitive standards. Ideal preparation for school or club seasons.

Boys Elevate (Grades 5–6) & Boys Inspire (Grades 7–9)

Four-week seasons with a weekly practice followed by an officiated game. Scorekeeping and standards that teach players how to compete the right way.

Spring 2026 Session

Girls Young Ballers: Saturdays, May 2 – May 23, 2026. Time window: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM.
Boys Young Ballers: Saturdays, May 2 – May 23, 2026. Time window: 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM.
Elevate (Grades 5–6): Saturdays, May 2 – May 23, 2026. Time window: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM.
Inspire (Grades 7–9): Saturdays, May 2 – May 23, 2026. Time window: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.
Girls Select (Grades 5–8): Fridays, May 1 – May 22, 2026. Time window: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM.

One day a week. Same gym. Simple schedule.
