First Session Recap – UA Rise Circuit Team Lex 17U Rise Houston

The opening session of the UA Rise Circuit is complete—and for Team Lex 17U Rise Houston, one thing is painfully clear: we’re defending well enough to win, but we aren’t scoring the basketball.

Across four games, we held our opponents to an average of 44 points per game. When you consider the level of talent at this circuit, that's a strong defensive showing. Most teams giving up that few points walk away with a winning record.

But we averaged only 37.25 points per game ourselves.

Here’s how it played out:

  • W vs MBA UA Rise 2026 – 52–37

  • L vs Bay State Jaguars Gold – 30–48

  • L vs Texas Elite 17U Rise – 30–43

  • L vs Example Sports Select – 37–48

Only once did we break 40 points—and that was our lone win. In every other matchup, we struggled to put enough points on the board to give our defensive effort a chance.

The takeaway? Defense is keeping us in games. Our identity on that end is solid. But offense is the gap. We need better execution, smarter decisions, and confident finishes. Until that clicks, we’ll keep grinding and building.

This is a process—and we’re committed to the work.

We’re not discouraged. We’re not satisfied. We’re locked in.
